Cushions and pillowcases for our bedroom!

119A5260-2.jpg

Our bedroom reveal is next week, but this week I wanted to show the materials I'll be using to style it out! I've been making cushions and pillowcases, and hunting around for cool things! Hope you enjoy seeing it!

I put this carpet on the table to photograph - this picture doesn't do it justice! It is 8 x 10, and made from pieced together used rugs from Turkey. So beautiful.

Cushions made from fabric from Niger (thanks to my in-laws!)

Basket on the right is from Niger, and the one on the left is from IKEA!

Lampshade also from IKEA (love the gold inside) and on the left is a bag from Egypt from Ritter's college days - I cut it up to make cushions!

Fabric on the left went into the cushions. Basket from Niger.

The fabric on the right is the curtain we will use in our bedroom.

Now to show you how I did it~

Fabrics laid out to sew. The small cushion has a zipper, but the other ones don't.

Big piece of fabric cut out for a queen sized pillowcase.

First seam. Then flip it over and press - then sew it again, and you get a French seam - so easy.

Second one attached.

The back piece is folded over and sewn down to create a pocket for the cushion. Have a great weekend!
